Ceratocapnos claviculata is a non-woody, broad-leaved climbing plant belonging to the poppy family (Papaveraceae). It is native in Great Britain and usually attains a height of around 0.7 m. Flowering extends from June to September, and the tiny diaspores weigh approximately 0.78 mg. Ellenberg-type indicator values characterise the species as a plant of semi-shade (light value 6), acid soils (reaction value 3) and moderate nutrient availability (value 5). It is warmth-loving (temperature value 7) and associated with low-disturbance sites (disturbance severity 0.75).
