Grow in full sun in a moderately moist, fertile soil. As a fast-developing annual it flowers from late spring into autumn and can self-seed readily in suitable open ground.
Galinsoga parviflora is a terrestrial, herbaceous annual with broad leaves and non-woody stems. Mature plants are ordinarily around 0.3 m tall and bear small flower heads continuously from May to October. In Great Britain the species is introduced and has become established, frequently on freely draining yet moist, nutrient-rich ground in full sun. It originates from the Americas, ranging from Northern and Central America to Colombia, and was first recorded in Germany in 1802. The minute diaspores weigh approximately 0.2 mg each, aiding efficient dispersal.
