Aubrieta deltoidea is a low, non-woody, broad-leaved herbaceous plant belonging to the Brassicaceae family. It typically reaches a height of around 0.11 metres and bears flowers from April to June. The species shows a strong preference for full sun, dry environments and calcareous or basic soils, with an Ellenberg reaction value of 7. It tolerates only low levels of disturbance (severity 0.47) and associates with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. In Great Britain it is introduced and established.
