Leucanthemum ircutianum is a native herbaceous plant, growing to about 37 centimetres in height. It has broad leaves and classic white daisy flowers that bloom from June through to October. The plant favours full sun and thrives in a range of moisture conditions, from fresh to moderately moist soils to drier sites. Ecological records indicate it typically occurs on warm, dry, nutrient-poor ground with a neutral to weakly acidic reaction, but it is equally at home in average garden soil. It is a characteristic species of grassland and meadow communities.
