Marmaronetta angustirostris is a waterbird belonging to the family Anatidae. Adults have a body mass of approximately 477 g and a wingspan of around 20.07 cm. The diet is dominated by plant material other than seeds (about 60%), with seeds making up a further 20% and invertebrates contributing roughly 20%. A single clutch of about 10 eggs is laid each year; incubation lasts roughly 25.25 days, and the young fledge at approximately 55 days of age. This species is introduced and established in Great Britain.
