Mycetophagus quadripustulatus

Mycetophagus quadripustulatus is a beetle of the family Mycetophagidae. It reaches about 5 mm in body length and weighs approximately 3.7 mg. The body is comparatively wide (1.7 mm) and rounded, with a pale colouration. Fine setae are present, especially on the dorsal head. The compound eyes are small, each about 0.26 mm long, and the antennae extend to roughly 1.5 mm. The elytra measure 3.2 mm in length, covering membranous wings that are 4.6 mm long with an area of 6.6 mm²; the resulting wing loading is 0.56 and the aspect ratio 2.6. Legs are moderately slender; the hind femur length is approximately 1.0 mm. No sexual dimorphism is evident.
