Polygonatum odoratum is a herbaceous perennial, non-woody and terrestrial. Its broad leaves are carried on stems that typically reach around 0.26 m in height. Flowering occurs from May to July. The species is native in Great Britain and grows on dry, calcareous to basic, nutrient-poor soils in partial shade. It forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations and is typically found in low-disturbance habitats.
