Rubus caesius is a woody, terrestrial shrub of the Rosaceae family. It is native in Great Britain. The plant is deciduous and broad-leaved, typically reaching around 0.4 metres in height. Flowering occurs from June to August. The preferred habitat is semi-shaded, on fresh to moderately moist, base-rich, fertile soils. It tolerates slightly saline conditions and occurs in sites with low disturbance. The diaspores weigh approximately 3.1 mg. It is classified as Least Concern on the Great Britain Red List.
