Avoid saline or highly enriched soils, and choose sites with low disturbance. Flowering continues from spring to early autumn with minimal intervention.
Stellaria graminea is a terrestrial, non-woody herbaceous plant. It bears broad leaves and typically reaches a height of about 33 cm. The flowering season extends from April to September. Ellenberg-type indicator values place it in sunny conditions (light value 7), though it is also noted as tolerating semi-shade. It grows on fresh, moderately moist, mesotrophic soils with a neutral to slightly acid reaction (reaction value 4).
