Triglochin palustris is a native herbaceous plant in Great Britain. It grows in open, sunny sites where the soil remains wet throughout the year, typically over calcareous or base-rich substrates. The plant is a poor competitor and is confined to nutrient-poor situations, such as mires, flushes and the margins of water bodies. It reaches a height of about 25 cm and bears narrow, broad-bladed leaves. Flowering takes place from June to September, producing small greenish flowers on a slender spike. The diaspores are very light, averaging around 0.7 mg. It forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations and is adapted to moderate warmth and low disturbance. The species is assigned to Red List category 3.
