Grow in a sunny position with moderately moist, ordinary garden soil. Thrives in neutral to slightly acid conditions. Flowering occurs from April to September when sufficient light and moisture are provided.
Veronica serpyllifolia is a herbaceous, non-woody plant with broad leaves, typically reaching 13 cm in height. Each leaf has an area of about 188 mm², and the tiny diaspores weigh around 0.046 mg. It is native in Great Britain and listed as Least Concern. The plant grows in full sun, prefers fresh to moderately moist soil of normal fertility, and tolerates a neutral to slightly acid reaction. It is not salt-tolerant and favours moderately warm conditions, with a low tolerance for disturbance. An arbuscular mycorrhizal association aids nutrient uptake. Blooming extends from April to September.
