Anthaxia quadripunctata is a small buprestid beetle. Adults measure roughly 5.4 mm in body length and weigh around 10 mg. The body is light in appearance, with a recorded colour lightness of 113.65. No sexual size dimorphism is evident (dimorphism score 0.0). The dorsal surface of the head, pronotum and abdomen is hairless, whereas the ventral abdomen carries a dense coat of setae (hairiness score 18.16). Head width averages 1.5 mm, pronotum width 2.1 mm, and the elytra are 3.87 mm long and 1.17 mm wide. Wing area is 5.44 mm² and wing length 4.04 mm, yielding a wing load of 1.87 and an aspect ratio of 2.36. Eye area is 0.32 mm² and antenna length is 1.56 mm. In Germany it is classed as not threatened (*) and its population trend carries the code 'h'.
