Grow in full sun, in consistently moist, fertile soil that is neutral to alkaline. It is particularly suited to damp gardens, pond edges or rain gardens.
Bidens cernua belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is a herbaceous, non-woody, broad-leaved plant reaching approximately 0.43 m in height. Flowering occurs from August to October. The species is native in Great Britain and is assessed as Not Threatened (*). It shows a strong affinity for full sun, moist to wet, nutrient-rich, and calcareous to basic conditions, with low tolerance of disturbance and no tolerance of salinity. It forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations.
