Geranium sylvaticum (family Geraniaceae) is a herbaceous, non-woody broad-leaved perennial native in Great Britain. The plant attains an average height of around 0.28 m and has a leaf area of approximately 1705 mm². Its diaspores weigh about 5.9 mg. Flowering extends from May to September. The species associates with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. In terms of ecological indicators, it occupies half-shaded situations with fresh, moderately moist soil that is neutral to weakly acidic and moderately nutrient-rich; temperature preference is cold, typical of alpine or northern regions. Its growth is terrestrial and herbaceous, with no woodiness.
