Achillea filipendulina is a non-woody, broad-leaved herbaceous plant reaching about 0.4 m in height. It grows best in full sun and prefers fresh, moderately moist, nutrient-rich soil with a calcareous to basic reaction. The plant produces very small diaspores (average mass 0.114 mg) and forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations. In Great Britain it is an introduced species that has become established.
