Grow in full sun in a well‑drained but moderately moist soil. A fertile, calcareous or basic substrate is ideal. The plant is suited to cool environments and does not require special winter protection. No formative pruning is needed; simply remove any spent stems if desired.
Honckenya peploides is a non‑woody, leaf‑succulent perennial recorded as native in Great Britain. It forms a low, evergreen plant reaching approximately 0.1 m in height. The leaves are broad and have a small area of around 39 mm². Flowering takes place from May to August. The species grows in full sun, with a preference for moderately moist, nutrient‑rich, and calcareous or basic soils. It is adapted to cold, alpine or northern temperature regimes. Arbuscular mycorrhizal associations are recorded.
