Leonurus cardiaca is an introduced, established species in Great Britain. It is a herbaceous, non-woody plant with broad, evergreen leaves and reaches approximately 0.58 metres in height. Flowering occurs from June to September. The species prefers full sun and moderately moist, nutrient-rich, calcareous or basic soils. It is not salt tolerant and associates with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. It typically occurs in habitats with low disturbance and moderately warm temperatures.
