Provide full sun. Soil can be dry to moderately moist, neutral to slightly acid, and of medium fertility. Sow in spring; blooms appear from May to August. Avoid high-disturbance locations and choose warm microclimates.
Lepidium virginicum is an introduced herb that has become established in Great Britain. This non-woody, broad-leaved plant typically reaches 40 cm in height. It is sun-loving and favours warm, low-disturbance sites. It thrives in dry to moderately moist soils that are neutral to slightly acid and offer medium nutrient levels. Flowering takes place from May to August. The tiny seeds weigh less than half a milligram each, and the species forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations. It is not currently evaluated on national Red Lists.
