Lotus tenuis is a native, herbaceous plant in Great Britain, belonging to the pea family (Fabaceae). It reaches a height of about 44 cm. The species favours sunny positions with fresh, moderately moist, calcareous or alkaline soils of normal nutrient status, and shows slight tolerance to salinity. Leaves are broad and the plant is non-woody. It typically occurs in low-disturbance habitats. Flowering takes place from June to August. Its native status indicates it is indigenous or an archaeophyte. A Red List category of V is assigned.
