Prefers a sunny position with fresh, moderately moist soil of average fertility. It is not suited to saline or heavily disturbed sites.
Mentha arvensis is a non-woody, broad-leaved herbaceous plant native in Great Britain. It typically reaches about 0.29 metres in height, with leaves averaging 566 mm² in area and diaspores weighing around 0.15 mg. The species is found in sunny locations with fresh, moderately moist soil of neutral to weakly acid reaction and average nutrient status. It tolerates only low levels of disturbance and shows no salt tolerance. Flowering extends from June through October.
