Oenanthe fistulosa is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Apiaceae family. It reaches a height of up to 50 cm and produces broad leaves. The plant flowers in umbels between June and August. Its ecological preferences are for full sun and wet, base-rich soils of moderate fertility. It has very low tolerance of salinity and persists under low levels of disturbance. The root system forms arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) associations. Native in Great Britain, it occurs in damp meadows, ditches and similar wetland habitats.
