Parietaria judaica is a non-woody, herbaceous perennial with broad leaves, reaching a height of approximately 0.2 m. The species is native in Great Britain and forms part of tall forb communities on fresh, moderately moist, distinctly calcareous soils. It grows in semi-shade but also tolerates open, sunny positions, and shows no tolerance of saline conditions. Disturbance at its sites is typically low. The plant forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations. Flowering occurs from June through October.
