It is a non-woody, herbaceous plant with broad leaves that average 58 mm² in area. The stems reach a height of around 27 cm. The plant favours full sun and grows on dry, nutrient-poor soils with a neutral to weakly acid reaction. It tolerates only low levels of disturbance. Flowering takes place from June to October. The diaspores (seeds) are very small, weighing approximately 0.3 mg each. The species is not considered threatened according to the available red-list assessment.
