Picea glauca is a coniferous tree in the pine family (Pinaceae). It is an introduced and established species in Great Britain. Plants are evergreen with needle-like leaves, each leaf having an area of about 24 mm². Mature individuals can reach a height of approximately 25.8 m. The small, winged seeds have a mass of around 2.45 mg. Flowering, in the form of pollen release from male strobili, takes place from May to June.
