Platanthera chlorantha is a terrestrial orchid native in Great Britain. It grows as a herbaceous plant with broad leaves and typically reaches a height of around 28 cm. The species favours semi-shaded conditions on fresh, moderately moist soils that are neutral to slightly acidic and of moderate fertility. Disturbance in its typical habitat is low, and it occurs in moderately warm settings. The dust-like seeds are exceptionally light, with a mass of only 0.0023 mg, and they rely on orchid mycorrhizal fungi for germination. Flowering takes place from May to July.
