Polygonatum multiflorum is a native, herbaceous perennial in Great Britain. It grows in shady situations on fresh, moderately fertile, calcareous soils that experience little disturbance. The plant reaches about 42 centimetres in height and bears broad leaves. Its flowers appear in April and provide nectar and pollen for wildlife. The species forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations.
