Rubus laciniatus is a woody, broad-leaved climbing plant reaching about 1.9 metres in height. It flowers from May to October and produces diaspores with an average mass of 3.7 milligrams. The species forms arbuscular mycorrhizal associations and grows in full sun, on moderately moist, acid soils of normal fertility. It is an introduced neophyte that has become established in Great Britain.
