This archaeophyte is not generally cultivated as a garden plant and is best left to arable fields and disturbed ground.
An archaeophyte, Spergula arvensis is a non-woody, broad-leaved herb typically reaching 0.27 m in height. It thrives in sunny, moderately moist conditions on mesotrophic soils and shows a preference for low-disturbance situations. The flowers appear from June to October, offering a modest resource of nectar and pollen.
