Thlaspi arvense is an herbaceous, non-woody plant with broad leaves, typically growing to a height of about 26 cm. An established archaeophyte in Great Britain, it has been present since before 1500. The plant bears flowers from April through August and thrives in sunny positions with fresh, moderately moist, nutrient-rich soils. It often occurs in low-disturbance environments and favours calcareous and basic substrates.
