Cerambyx cerdo is a longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae). Adult beetles reach a body length of roughly 4.1 cm and a mass of about 1.4 g. Antenna length extends to 6.5 cm, exceeding the body length. The elytra measure approximately 3 cm, and the pronotum width is around 1 cm. Eye area is 6.0 mm², wing area 278 mm², and wing loading 4.9 with an aspect ratio of 2.3. Dorsal hairiness is recorded, with scores of 5.8 on the head, 5.7 on the pronotum, and 6.6 on the abdomen. The species shows no marked sexual dimorphism. It is listed on Annexes II and IV of the Habitats Directive and is classed as critically endangered (Category 1) in Germany, where its population trend is assessed as stable. In Great Britain, it has been recorded but its status remains undetermined.
