Denticollis linearis is a small elaterid beetle with a body length of approximately 1.3 cm. The pronotum measures about 2.2 mm wide and 2.1 mm long; the head is roughly 2.0 mm wide. The elytra are 9.1 mm long and each about 1.7 mm wide. The hind wings stretch to 10.2 mm with a total area of 39 mm², giving a wing loading of 1.24 and an aspect ratio of 2.26. The antennae are 5.7 mm long, somewhat exceeding the length expected for its body size. The body is notably setose, with a total hairiness index of 16.9; the ventral abdomen is the most hirsute part (index 22.6). The eyes are small, with an area of 0.28 mm². The mandibles are short and narrow. No sexual dimorphism is apparent.
