Molorchus minor

Molorchus minor is a small longhorn beetle, typically about 8 mm in body length and weighing around 14 mg. Its elytra are strikingly short, only about 2.7 mm long, while the antennae are notably long – over 12 mm, longer than the body. The membranous wings are well developed, and the beetle is capable of flight. A covering of fine hairs is present on the dorsal surface of the head, pronotum and abdomen. The overall body colour is light. The beetle has a relatively narrow body form. Adult specimens are on the wing in May. The species has been recorded in Great Britain, where its presence is confirmed by distribution data.
