Polygraphus poligraphus is a small, stout-bodied beetle. The body is rounded in cross-section (body roundness 0.925), about 1.0 mm wide and 0.93 mm high. The pronotum is 0.92 mm wide and the elytra are 1.65 mm long. The head is 0.66 mm wide, carrying short antennae and proportionally short mandibles (mandible aspect 0.63). The eyes are small, measuring 0.33 mm in length. The entire body is densely hairy, with pronounced hairiness on the dorsal surface of the head, the abdomen and the pronotum. The membranous wings have an area of 5.2 mm² and a low wing loading of 0.208, indicating the species is capable of flight. Its integument is pale, reflected in a measured lightness value of 119. Males and females show no external differences (sexual dimorphism score 0).
