Vincenzellus ruficollis

Scientific profile

Adults of Vincenzellus ruficollis reach a body length of about 3.0 mm and a body mass of approximately 0.9 mg. The head is roughly 0.6 mm wide, and the pronotum is nearly square, measuring approximately 0.65 mm in both length and width. The elytra are about 1.8 mm long and 0.5 mm wide. The body has a roundness index of 0.77, indicating a moderately rounded shape. The antennae measure around 0.8 mm. The wings are well developed, with a length of 3.3 mm and an area of 3.1 mm², resulting in a very low wing load. The entire body is covered with fine hairs; the dorsal surface of the head and pronotum is notably hairy, and the ventral abdomen also bears a dense coat. The beetle is light in colour, and no sexual dimorphism is apparent.
