Euphorbia amygdaloides is a herbaceous perennial that reaches about 0.4 m in height. The non-woody shoots carry broad leaves and produce flower heads during April and May. It is native in Great Britain and typically found in shady, moist, lime-rich beech and mixed deciduous woodlands, where it forms part of the understorey flora on moderately fertile soil.
