Glis glis is a small rodent with an average body mass of around 140 grams and a body length of about 18 centimetres. Its diet is dominated by seeds, which make up 60 per cent of intake, accompanied by fruit at 40 per cent. The home range is very small, approximately 0.001 square kilometres. Reproduction involves around 1.2 litters per year, following a gestation of about 28 days. The maximum recorded lifespan is 9 years. In Great Britain the species is introduced, established and considered invasive.
