Grow Veronica spicata in full sun on a dry, well-drained, nutrient-poor soil. It needs no fertiliser and is well suited to rock gardens or sunny, low-nutrient borders.
Veronica spicata is a herbaceous plant of the plantain family (Plantaginaceae). It attains a height of about 27 cm and has broad leaves. The upright flower spikes appear in June and July. Stems are non-woody and the plant is native in Great Britain.
