Sphecodes ephippius is a univoltine, cleptoparasitic bee belonging to the family Halictidae. As a cleptoparasite, it does not construct its own nest but instead lays its eggs in the nests of other bees, where its larvae consume the host’s provisions. It is recorded in Great Britain. Adults are active from May to August. The female has an intertegular distance of 1.53 mm and a tongue length of 2.07 mm.
