This data licence governs how you may reuse data obtained via Naturkompass. It supplements the B2B Terms and the API Terms of Use.
§ 1 Data Categories
Naturkompass data is composed of different components:
- Third-party source data (e.g. GBIF, GloBI and other scientific sources) under their respective licences (often CC0 or CC BY 4.0). Sources are documented at Data sources.
- Processed content (structuring, links, texts, scores) created by the provider.
§ 2 Licence for Processed Content
The factual data content processed by the provider is made available to the customer for the use intended in the booked plan under the terms of a CC BY 4.0-compatible licence, unless expressly stated otherwise in the offer. Trademarks, logo, design, software, and source code are excluded.
§ 3 Attribution
When displaying the data publicly, an appropriate source attribution must be provided, e.g.:
"Data: Naturkompass (gartenexpedition.de) and underlying sources (incl. GBIF, GloBI)."
Licence obligations of the original sources (in particular attribution for CC BY) must additionally be complied with by the customer.
§ 4 Permitted and Prohibited Use
- Permitted: integration, analysis, display, and further processing in your own product.
- Prohibited: presenting the data as officially/governmentally confirmed;
- Prohibited: misleading or out-of-context use;
- Prohibited: building a competing bulk dataset by systematic harvesting (see AUP § 5).
§ 5 Warranty
The data is provided "as is". No warranty is given for completeness, accuracy, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent permitted by law. The liability provisions of the B2B Terms apply.
