Agrilus viridis is a beetle of the family Buprestidae with a recorded presence in the United Kingdom, although its current status remains indeterminate. Adults are small, measuring approximately 7.3 millimetres in body length and weighing around 12 milligrams. The elytra are elongate, each about 5.2 millimetres long, and each wing is about 5.1 millimetres long, with an aspect ratio of 2.77 and a wing loading of 1.6. The head is about 1.4 millimetres wide, with relatively large eyes of 0.3 square millimetres each, and the antennae extend to approximately 1.3 millimetres. The mandibles are short, at 0.44 millimetres, with a proximal width of 0.12 millimetres. The body has sparse hairiness: the ventral abdomen and dorsal head bear some setae, while the pronotum and dorsal abdomen are essentially bare. The body is rounded in cross-section, with a roundness value of 0.92, and the pronotum is 1.6 millimetres wide. The legs are slender, the hind femur being 1.2 millimetres long and 0.34 millimetres wide, with the tibia slightly longer at 1.3 millimetres. No information on dietary habits or breeding is available.
